Migration from Magento 1 to Magento 2. Should you stay or should you go

Usually when experts talk about Magento migration the talk about Magento 1 vs Magento 2. But in real life all things are difficultiest. Let discuss the migration to Magento 2.

Honestly I didn’t found any info about necessity of the migration to Magento 2 platform. Only comparisons, which platform is faster, better or comfortable for admin. Officiale Magento site and blog is silent. Nobody knows what will be futher.
I think, if you use Magento 1.9.x version and eshop works properly, gives a profit, you won’t migrate to Magento 2.

Because it is not upgrade to Magento 2. It is migration to Magento 2.

There is a big difference betwen Magento 1 and Magento2. Magento 2 it is very different platform. That is why it is not upgrade. Magento migration will be done within 200-240 hours. But if your e-store need several changes or you have additional needs, the migration can be done within 400-600 hours. You can calculate how much it will cost. The average hourly rate is 20-50 USD and depends on professional qualification of Magento devs and their home country.

Also you need to remember about risks. The loss of sales, SEO mistakes and other risks which will influence your profit.

You need to move to Magento 2 if you plan significant changes on e-shop as a redesign, new site structure, etc. Because investments will have high rate.
